Now this makes me mad....

In the middle of the week I read in the paper that a prisoner in a British jail trying to commit suicide, rescused by the prison service has been awarded £575,000 in an out of court settlement.
What the Donald Duck is this country coming to?
This is a typical Catch 22 situation, let him kill himself and face a major investgation, rescue him and cost the tax payer a shed load of cash for infringing his Human Rights.
I have no idea why this guy was banged up but I wonder how much he considered the Human Rights of others or Society when he commited his offence/s.
There must have been little point in fining this low-life when brought to justice, instead he was condemmed to lose his liberty for a period of time at a huge cost to the tax payer.
Now the tax payer gets a double whammy having to cough up £575,000 too. That's a huge, indefensable reward for the Prison Service to settle on. After all, there used to be a saying:

"If you cant do the time, dont do the crime"

This is Human Rights legislation gone bloody mad.
