Free of Christmas for another year.

Thank goodness it is over for another year. I hate Christmas. Months of propoganda and inducements to spend more that we can afford. Then on Xmas morning the telly is bombarded with adverts for Sales and holidays almost before the Xmas presents are unwrapped.
Wise up. The days of "Christmas is for giving", passed years ago. Now its all about shafting the public and profit. Yet most people fall for it every year.
I do sometimes wonder if the popularity of post Xmas Sales on Boxing day is people venturing back to the shops as soon as possible to see how much they would have saved if the sales were pre Xmas, (as is now becoming the norm as people spend less on the High Street and more on the internet). Then there are those  sad people that use the January Sales to buy the presents for next year. Never could get the hang of that one. Saving money on presents for next year for people who's tastes might change or may become your worst enermy overnight (it happens). Very strange.
For the next few weeks I think I will keep away from the shops as much as possible, until the madness subsides.
Xmas did bring me one surprise .... more of that in my next post.
