Old Ivy: Ricoh GX100

Old Ivy

Testing out my Ricoh GX100, I took a shot of this piece if old ivy clinging to a tree. For a 5 year old camera, I am more than happy with the result.
The image was originally shot in RAW and had minimal work done in Photoshop, mainly a little extra contrast and saturation.
A couple of things that I love about this camera, the removable electronic viewfinder and the menu system.
I am not a lover of viewscreen only cameras.I just love using a viewfinder and the extra stability from holding the camera snug to your face/body. The VF1 viewfinder snaps on in a few seconds and can be used horizontal or vertically, giving a live view of what the sensor is seeing, with or without gridlines or camera settings overlaid. A button on the back of the camera switches from viewfinder to screen and back. The viewfinder is a joy to use.
The menu system of the GX100 is quirky, but it is quick and simple to use. Set up the main camera setting on the main menu, assign various functions to the front dial, rear jog wheel and top function button and all the essential shooting functions are quick and easy to get to, and personalised. I wish more cameras worked this way.
