Oh dear. I think I must be ill. I have spent hard earned cash on Microsoft Office! I am definitely a case for the asylum. But there is a reason, Excel VBA. It just is not in Open Office and I need to use it occasionally for work, where MS Office rules the roost. Bahhhhhh.
Now, I can survive perfectly well using Open Office Calc, its a damn good spreadsheet, but it’s macro language is not the same as VBA, so as I write most of my macros at home, it makes sense to have Excel on my laptops. I still have Office on my old Mac, but she is the standby computer these days.
I must admit that Office 2007 is very pretty, even prettier than Office 10 for Mac, and it retains its Word, Excel and PowerPoint suite, augmented by One Note in the Home and Student version I shelled out for.
Now the big surprise for me was One Note. I have been looking for a damn good electronic notebook for years. Now, it looks like I may have found the one I need. Damn it. Its from Microsoft! Oh well, two out of four classics in the Office suite has got to make it worth the money now, especially as Excel is such a woop ass spreadsheet and maybe, just maybe, One Note will get some recognition as one of the best electronic notebooks on the planet. Only time will tell.
