More Open Source software-Firefox.

Dont get me wrong, I quite like Apples Safari browser. Its quick, but dare I say its ugly. OK.. I still have Safari 1 as i live i a world of OSX 10.3.9.
Firefox, now that it has come of age, is better. It's not faster but as a user experience, it is about the best browser around as I see it.
Like many ardent web surfers, I keep more than one browser alive, Firefox and Safari. I revisited Firefox (which I had for ages but did not use much) when the version 2 update appeared. it has now become my browser of choice because it looks good, accesses just about every web site, is pretty quick and has a number of useful extensions and themes now that it has matured.
Amongst the many things that I do on the net, I use a lot of Google apps. Calender (coz it sends reminders to my mobile free of charge), Google Documents (for sharing documents with others), Google Notes (for clipping web pages).
  1. There is a neat Firefox extension that sits on the status bar that with a click open my Google Notebook to accept clippigs and web links. This is a major plus for anyone that is researching topics on the net. Its very quick and easy to use.
  2. Another extension that sits on the status bar is Scribefire. I use this extension to publish articles to this blog, which is very quick and easy compared to logging in to Blogger.
Firefox is well worth the download, and a hunt through the themes and extensions to give you what you need in a web experience.
